Five Favorite Beauty Buys: December 2018

Body: Lush Karma Kream
My favorite product from Lush and one of my favorite body creams. Smells so lovely, the orange oil is there to hydrate, the cocoa butter to soften and the orange oil to brighten skin tone.

Concealer: Too Faced Born this way concealer
One of my favorite concealers at the moment – Full coverage, long lasting and hydrating. Love the bottle and applicator, it’s non-crease. I’ve been using the Natural beige and warm beige shades.

Lips: Bourjois rouge edition in Floribeige!
a drugstore favorite this month. This Bourjois soft matte lippie is a soft velvet matte texture, comes on smoothly and doesn’t dry out the lips. The Floribeige is a classic nude with no pink undertones.

Eyebrows: Benefit Brow Contour pro
I rarely use products for my eyebrows – the most I ever really use is a brow gel but I really do love this new product from Benefit and only ever use a little bit. I love this – each color comes with 4 shades to help you naturally fill in your brow. Easy to blend, waterproof and longwear – I’ll usually use this at night and stick to a clear brow gel during the day.

Setting Spray: Urban Decay all nighter cherry scented setting spray
I never ever leave the house without spraying a setting spray, and Urban Decay makes some of my favorite ones. I always try new brands and come back to this. The normal setting spray doesn’t have a scent, but I love anything scented so I was over the moon when they launched the cherry scent (smells just like the cherry scented lip balms I had as a kid) – and it comes in my favorite size, the travel size (it’s the only setting spray I travel with)

Chic Stay: Corinthia Hotel Budapest

Ideal for…  a grand stay in Budapest (it has been said Director, Wes Anderson was inspired by the hotel for the movie – The Grand Budapest Hotel) What:  Corinthia Hotel, Budapest The Rooms:  Spacious, quite modern compared to the exteriors – but space in Europe definitely feels like the ultimate luxury. I stayed in a junior suite, which was lovely – interior was – it was quite simple, but the wow factor goes to the gorgeous walk in closet I had. The Toilets:  Corinthia Hotels use ESPA products, and the Budapest one was no different. The Breakfast:  Even though I had the option of the breakfast in the lobby, as well as the lounge – I opted for room service on all the days due to the early starts. One thing the Hungarian do really well is their homemade butter, so the pastry basket was on point. The Food (restaurants & bars): -Sky Lounge with a view -Rickshaw (asian) -Caviar & Bull (order their beef tartare and their homemade truffle butt...

Restaurant Review: Enigma, Dubai

Ideal for… an authentic culinary concept Restaurant name and location: Enigma restaurant, Palazzo Versace Hotel Cuisine: Persian Atmosphere: Quiet, and attracts hotel guests. What they say:  Enigma restaurant’s culinary tale continues to evolve as it features the ‘Taste of Persia’. Inspired by the Iranian origins of our Michelin starred Executive Chef Mansour Memarian, it is the most authentic culinary story to grace the kitchens of Enigma. What to order: -Beetroot salad (fresh – and a lovely light starter) -Masto Khiar wa Naana (yoghurt, cucumbers and mint – but they also have a large range of yogurt options) -Kabab Kubide (super flavorful – my favorite kabab) Service: Islam, our server was super sweet and knowledgeable What I loved: -The cheese they offer with bread and vegetables is made in house – delicious and one of the best I’ve had in a while. -Concept changes every 3 months – at the moment it’s Persian food -If you’re a fan of...

Teeth Whitening 101

My favorite dentist in Dubai, Dr Sofia at Euromed (Fun Fact: my sister and closest friends are also her patients.) She’ll be answering questions you send in for dental, so feel free to comment below or send through your questions via DM on Instagram. This month, Dr Sofia talks to myfashdiary readers on teeth whitening, her thoughts on them and if we should even be doing it.    Teeth whitening: What are your thoughts? How often should people be doing it? Is it best to do it a salon or with a dentist? Teeth whitening techniques have been well researched over the years, and the results obtained both in the dental office and at home are virtually guaranteed. The active bleaching ingredient in most whitening products is carbamide peroxide, which yields hydrogen peroxide and this in turn interacts with the pigments that exist in enamel and dentin, resulting in changing their light reflection capacity making the teeth look lighter over all. It is vital to understand that ev...
